We have learned of the passing of George Baima. He was a member of the Intermodal Association of Chicago for over 30 years, and also served as a committee chair for many years. We are very saddened by this loss.

George Baima (1937 - 2013)

George Gene Baima, age 76, of Darien, Illinois, died December 6th, 2013. Beloved husband of 27 years to Lana Lee (Madeja, Lukasek) survived by son Scott, wife Haven, daughter Deborah, husband Dale Goodwin, son Craig, friend Dawna. Stepfather to Lana Fogelson, husband Larry, Lynn Madeja-Foster, husband Cory, Andrea Metcalf, and Audree Grubesic, husband Paul. Blessed with 17 grandchildren. Loving brother to Frances Lee Dunn, MaryJo Pearson, and nieces and nephews. George's transportation career spanned 55 years including, MoPac RR, VP Central States Trucking, Pacella Trucking Express as well as serving industry associations: IANA, Traffic Club of Chicago, and Intermodal Association of Chicago. Awarded Chicago Traffic Club Person of the Year, IANA Silver King Pin Award Excellence in Intermodel 2008, and Chicago Traffic Club creating a scholarship award commemorating George Baima 2014.
